Tay Sachs disease

Tay-Sachs disease is well known Jewishs genetic disease. It is an inherited metabolic disorder.
When children are affected there is a deficiency of an enzyme 'hexosaminidase A.' Without Hexosaminidase A, a fatty substance accumulattes abnormally in cells -especially in the brain nerve cells.
There are 3 forms of Tay-Sachs disease:
* Infantile - early disease
* Juvenile
* Adult - late desease

Symptoms: Babies with early tasacs show symptoms at about 6 months - they lose or don't have motor and/or mental skills.
Then follows paralysis and death at age of five.
Juvenile symptoms start at age of five with similar symptoms of tasax.
Adult Tatsachs symptoms are muscle distrofy and losing motor skills.
